BRILL ADIUM

  • Brill Adium (b. 1991) is an African American painter whose work explores themes of race, identity, and historical monumental events. Focused on portraying Black figures throughout American history, Adium creates large-scale, installation-based paintings that evoke recognition and connection to modern-day politics. His confrontational imagery challenges art-historical narratives, redefining storytelling within contemporary art.

Influenced by artists such as Jean-Michel Basquiat, Kehinde Wiley, and Kara Walker, Adium is one of Atlanta's youngest influential painters specializing in subject matter centered on Black American identity. His thought-provoking works engage in dialogue about the complex history of the American South and its muted presence in today's social politics. Adium’s art interrogates the nuances of identity and power dynamics, creating compelling pieces that provoke reflection and conversation.
